The Hindu festival Diwali also called the Festival of Lights, is celebrated every autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and every spring in the Southern Hemisphere. Generally happens between mid-October and mid-November. Diwali in India is usually celebrated with family get together, colorful and unique decorations in homes and temples, and exhibitions of lights and diyas.
The significance of the Diwali festival is considered a spiritual win of light over darkness and good over evil. The lights during the Diwali period signify that it is the time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, kill dark shadows and evils, and bless us with the strength and the zeal to take our goodwill for the rest of the year.
Being one of the most delightful times of the year, Diwali 2023 is commemorated on the 15th day of the 8th month (the month of Kartik) in the Hindu calendar, i.e., 12th November 2023. Typically, Diwali is celebrated on Amavasya or ‘new moon day.’
Taken from the Sanskrit word Deepavali meaning ‘Line of Lamps,’ and is one of the most significant festivals in India, marking a new year in the Hindu calendar. The celebrations of Diwali 2023 endure for five days. The dates of these are mentioned below:

The Goddess Lakshmi is primarily worshipped during Diwali Puja for happiness, prosperity, and fame. For Diwali 2023, the Lakshmi Puja Muhurat stretches to 1 hour 56 minutes, i.e., from 05:40 pm to 07:36 pm on November 12th for the entire of India.
