This is especially true for the entry classes: Pre-KG, referred to as Balvatika-1, UKG, known as Balvatika-3, and Class-1. KV School New Age Rules for 2026-27

Please be advised that the age eligibility for classes 5 and 6 is identical! This is due to the fact that in 2022, the Headquarters of Kendriya Vidyalaya determined that the minimum age for class 1 has been raised from 5 to 6 years! Consequently, the differences will persist into the 5th year! In the upcoming academic year 2027-28, the eligible age for classes 6 and 7 will also be the same!
