Per KVS admission standards, the minimum age requirement for class 1 admission is 6 years old, while the maximum age limit is 8 years old as of April 1, 2024. Applicants who are differently-abled are granted a 2-year relaxation for their upper age limit. Thus, for the 2024-2025 class 1 admission, children born between April 1, 2016 and April 1, 2018 are eligible to apply, except for those in the differently-abled category. Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1 Admission Reservation 2024-2025
When it comes to securing a spot in KVS class 1, the usual reservation rules apply. It’s important to note that fresh admissions in all Kendriya Vidyalayas will have reserved seats for different categories. Specifically, 15 percent of seats will be reserved for Scheduled Caste, 7.5 percent for Scheduled Tribes, and 27 percent for Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL). Additionally, 3 percent of total available seats for fresh admission will be set aside for Differently Abled-children as per the provisions of RTE Act, 2009. These policies align with the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.
For those seeking admission into 1st Grade, it’s important to know the specific break-up of reservation seats. The RTE Quota (Right to Education) accounts for 25% of available seats, while Scheduled Caste has a reserved percentage of 15%, Scheduled Tribe has a 7.5% reservation, and Other Backward Classes have a reservation of 27%.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Lottery (Draw of Lots) Procedure 2024-25

What does category 1 mean for KVS admission? It refers to children and grandchildren of Project Sector employees who sponsor the Vidyalaya, along with retired employees’ children and grandchildren.
Here are the other admission categories:
Category I: Children of transferable and non-transferable central government employees and ex-servicemen’s children.
Category II: Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies/public sector undertaking/institute of higher learning of the Government of India.
Category III: Children of transferable and non-transferable State Government employees.
Category IV: Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies/ public sector undertakings/institutes of higher learning of the State Governments.
Category V: Children from any other category including children of foreign nationals who are located in India due to their work or for any personal reasons. The Children of Foreign Nationals will only be considered if there are no Indian Nationals’ children on the waitlist for admission.

What is the meaning of ‘Single Girl Child’ in Kendriya Vidyalaya admission?
KVS provides a unique reservation for the SGC category in class 1 admissions. The term ‘Single Girl Child’ refers to a female child who is the only offspring of her parents with no other siblings, including twin sisters. In other words, a single girl child is a daughter with no brothers or sisters. Kendriya Vidyalaya Class 1 Admission Lottery Result 2024-25
The order in which the seats are allocated through the lottery process is as follows: The top 10 spots will be reserved for students who qualify under the Right to Education Act. To be more specific, if there are 40 students in a class, the first 10 positions will be given to those students who meet the RTE criteria. This includes applicants from various categories such as SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) /Differently abled. All of their applications will be taken into account.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Fee Structure 2024-2025
Children admitted under the 25% quota as per the RTE Act 2009 are exempted from any fee. Additionally, expenses for NCERT textbooks, notebooks, stationery, uniform, and transport are also covered if valid bills are produced up to a certain limit and based on fund availability. These exemptions will continue from class I to class VIII in the same KV or any other K.V. However, employees who already receive fee reimbursements from their departments cannot claim these RTE concessions.
The fee structure for primary, middle, secondary, and senior secondary classes is as follows: For primary and middle classes, there is no tuition fee, but an admission fee of Rs. 25 and VVN Nidhi of Rs. 500 and Rs. 600 respectively. For secondary and senior secondary classes, an admission fee of Rs. 25 is charged along with a tuition fee of Rs. 200 and Rs. 400 respectively, and a VVN Nidhi of Rs. 600 for both.
