RTE Private School Admission in Tamil Nadu 2024-25 Starting Date and Last Date: The Government of Tamil Nadu has released a guide for private schools in Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2024-25, featuring free admission opportunities. As part of the 25% seat reservation mandated by the Right to Free and Compulsory Education for Children Act, students are eligible to seek admission in LKG and Class I at private self-financed schools from April 22, 2024, to May 20, 2024.

The registration process for admission to private schools under Section 12.1(c) of the Right To Education Act, 2009 provides an opportunity for eligible candidates to seek admission, aiming to ensure equal access to quality education for all. The application period will be open from April 22, 2024, starting at 01:00 PM, until May 18, 2024.

Required Documents for TN RTE Admission 2024-25

Applicants must upload digital copies of the following documents and submit physical copies during the admission process:

• Student Photo: Dimensions – Width-150px, Height-175px, Size – not exceeding 100 KB.
• Proof of Birth of student: JPG / JPEG format, max size 1MB.
• Parent ID (Father, Mother, or Guardian): JPG / JPEG format, max size 1MB.
• Address Proof: Acceptable formats include JPG / JPEG, max size 1MB (e.g., Family Card, Voter ID Card, etc.).

Certificates Required for LKG & Class-1 Applicants:

For TN RTE Admission 2024-25 in Tamil Nadu, applicants for LKG and Class-1 must submit relevant certificates during online registration, obtainable from designated Competent Authorities such as the Tahsildar and District Social Welfare Officer.

The Income certificate is issued by the Tahsildar of the Revenue Department under the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Community Certificates for BC and MBC categories are provided by the Deputy Tahsildar within the Revenue Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

SC Community Certificates are issued by the Tahsildar in the Revenue Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, or by the Competent authority for children originating from other states.

ST Community Certificates are granted by the RDO/Sub Collector in the Revenue Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, or by the Competent authority for children from other states.

Certificates for Orphaned children are issued by the District Social Welfare Officer within the Department of Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme.

HIV-affected individuals can obtain certificates from a Medical Officer authorized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Government of India.

Certificates for Transgender individuals are issued by a Medical Officer authorized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

For children of Scavenging workers employed by local bodies, authorization is given by the respective Commissioners or Executive officers of corporations, municipalities, town panchayats, and village panchayats.

Children of Scavenging workers who are not employed by local bodies can receive authorization from the District Collector or the designated authority appointed by the District Collector.

TN RTE Admission 2024-25: Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for TN RTE School Admission 2024 in Tamil Nadu, the child must be a resident of Tamil Nadu, belong to the EWS category with a family income below 2 lakh rupees, and fall within the specified age range. For LKG admissions, children must have been born between August 1, 2018, and July 31, 2021. Similarly, Class 1 applicants should have been born between August 1, 2018, and July 31, 2019.
