Do only government employees have the right to apply for admission of their children to Kendriya Vidyalayas?
No, self-employed persons, persons in private jobs, and those from the floating population are also eligible to apply for admission of their wards to Kendriya Vidyalayas. However, admission will be granted in order of priority specified in the Guidelines for Admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Are there any costs associated with the application process?
No, the application process is free of charge.
Will there be any exam before admission?
There is no exam for Std 1 admission.

When can a child apply for grade 1?
In Std 1 students must be at least five years old and the maximum age limit is seven years old as of 01/04/2021. Those with a “differently-abled” status can relax the upper age limit by two years. For applicants not in the “Differently Abled” category, the age range of a child seeking admission is: 1.04.2014 to 1.04.2016. For applicants in the “Differently Abled” category, the age range is: 1.04.2012 to 1.04.2016.Sign up/registration will not be allowed if the date of birth entered does not lie within the above mentioned range.
What are the timings for Shift 1 and Shift 2 School ?
KVS RO helpline contacts are listed under “Help Desk” link at the admission portal. Shift-1 will take place in the morning and shift-2 in the afternoon. For more information, please contact KVS RO helpline during working hours.
How many Kendriya Vidyalayas can I apply to using one application?
You can apply for at most 3 KVs in an application.
