Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2025-26 for Class-1 & Class-6: The availability of Class 1 admission slots at Kendriya Vidyalaya school for the academic year 2025-26 is significantly decreasing as a result of the introduction of Balvatika classes. Last year, admissions for Balvatika-3 (UKG) were carried out in approximately 450 schools, with one class per school. A total of around 18,000 children have become part of the KV community. Each year, the likelihood of admission to Class 1 is notably reduced due to the decreasing number of vacancies in schools. The expansion of Balvatika-3 classes within schools and additional sections in existing schools may lead to the cessation of KVS class 1 admissions. Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2025-26 Important Dates

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Selection Process 2025-26 for Class-1

In the fresh admission seats, 25% will be allocated for the Right to Education (RTE). Additionally, 15% will be set aside for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 27% for Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL). The admissions will begin with students under the RTE Act, followed by those with Special Needs (CwSN), and then children categorized as Category 1, which includes SC, ST, and OBC-NCL students. After Category 1 admissions, Category 2 will be considered, which also encompasses SC, ST, and OBC-NCL students (up to Category 3 for Project/IHL schools).

Any shortfall in the reserved seats for SC, ST, and OBC-NCL will be calculated after accounting for those admitted under the RTE quota and the Priority Categories 1 and 2. The reservation criteria will apply within the approved class limit of 32 students per section, as follows:

• RTE: 25% (8 seats)
• SC: 15% (5 seats)
• ST: 7.5% (2 seats)
• OBC: 27% (8 seats)
• 3% of the seats are reserved for CwSN applicants horizontally.

Upon completing the registration process, each Kendriya Vidyalaya will conduct lotteries in this order:
a) RTE Lottery
b) CwSN Lotteries
c) Category 1
d) Category 2
e) SC
f) ST
g) OBC
h) Category 3
i) Category 4
j) Category 5
k) Category 6 (if applicable)

The procedure for fresh admissions to Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalayas follows this sequence:
(I) In the first lottery, 8 out of the 32 Class 1 seats will be designated for RTE provisions. These will be filled through a draw from all applications of SC, ST, EWS, BPL, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and CwSN that reside in the neighborhood.
(II) The second lottery will focus on Children with Special Needs in the SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Unreserved categories as per Priority.
(III) For the third lottery, any remaining seats (after accounting for RTE and CwSN applicants) will be filled based on the existing Priority Categories of Category 1 and Category 2 (up to Category 3 for Project/IHL KV) until all spots are filled or the sanctioned strength is met.
(IV) The fourth lottery will tally the number of SC/ST/OBC-NCL students admitted from RTE, DA, Category 1, and Category 2 (up to Category 3 for Project/IHL KV) through the third phase. Any shortfall in reserved seats for SC/ST/OBC-NCL will then be fulfilled by admitting qualified applicants based on priority order, regardless of the sanctioned strength.
(V) In the fifth lottery, if any vacant seats remain after all previous processes, applicants from Priority Category 3 (Category 4 in Project/IHL KV) onward will be considered for admission based on the existing priority list for unreserved seats. Remaining unfilled reserved seats for RTE/SC/ST/OBC (NCL) will remain unoccupied.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Age Limit 2025-26 for All Classes from Balvatika to Class-10

The admission process for this academic year remains unchanged; the guidelines are consistent with previous years. KVS maintains strict age requirements for applicants across all classes, from Pre-KG to 11. If your child has reached the age of 3, they are eligible to apply for Balvatika-1. For children who are 4 years old, Balvatika-2 applications are accepted, and if your child is 5, you can apply for Balvatika-3 at any nearby KV school. Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Lottery Results 2025-26

Constitute of Committee for Lottery Draw: Each Kendriya Vidyalaya will establish a committee tasked with overseeing the Draw of Lots for Class I or any subsequent classes (limited to offline processes) when it becomes apparent that not all candidates from a specific category, or those with identical transfer numbers, can be accommodated given the number of available seats.

The committee will consist of the following five (5) members:

1. Principal (Chair)
2. Teacher Representative (Nominated by the Principal)
3. Two Parent Representatives (including one female) (One parent must represent candidates eligible under section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act 2009)
4. VMC Representative (Nominated by the VMC Chairman)

Additionally, a 6th member may be appointed by the Principal from students in classes IX to XII, where applicable.

This committee should be announced with the approval of the VMC Chairman at least five days prior to the lottery draw and should be prominently displayed on the School Notice Board.
