The admission portal of KVS has a specific age requirement for students to be eligible for admission in Standard 1 for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025. Even a single day of difference in the age requirement will not be accepted, leading to the application process being halted. What is the cut-off date for a child applying to class 1 in 2024-25?
In 2024-2025, the minimum age requirement for entering the first grade is 6 years old, and the maximum age is 8 years old as of April 1, 2024. Those with special needs will be allowed an additional two-year leeway, meaning their birthdates must range from April 1, 2014, to April 1, 2018. However, for those who do not have any disabilities, their birthdates must fall between April 1, 2016, and April 1, 2018. Anyone outside of these dates will not be able to enroll.

What is the procedure for entering the DoB of a Child in the KVS Portal?
The documented birthdate of the child has to be included in the admission form as it cannot be changed later on. According to the KVS rules, the minimum age for enrolling in Standard 1 is 6 years and the maximum age is 8 years as of April 1, 2024. If a student is a part of the “Differently Abled” category, the upper age limit is increased by two years. Thus, the date of birth range accepted for children applying to Standard 1 in the academic year 2024-2025 is between 1.4.2016 and 1.4.2018 for those not in the “Differently Abled” group. In comparison, the range accepted for those in the “Differently Abled” group is between 1.4.2014 and 1.4.2018.
How can I upload my DoB Certificate to the KVS Admission Portal?
All applicants must meet the required age range to continue the sign-up/registration process. To verify, a JPEG file (with a size limit of 256KB) of the proof of birthdate must be uploaded to the online admission form. It is suggested that applicants keep a copy of the scanned document in their possession. For Std. 1 admission, the proof provided must be a birth certificate released by the necessary registration body, such as a Notified Area Council, Municipality, Municipal Corporation, data from Village Panchayat, Military Hospital, or service records of Defense personnel. If a Vidyalaya allows provisional admission, the original document of the date of birth must be presented at the time of enrollment. It will be given back after verification.
