Admissions for the current academic year, 2020-2021, to the various Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools have not commenced yet. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the admission dates for the thousands of schools all over the country have not been announced yet. Formal official announcements on the first round of the admission process, to be conducted online, are expected soon.

KVS Admission for Class 1:

Lakhs pf parents are waiting to get their ward admitted to Kendriya Vidyalaya schools. Each year, the individual school authorities take different steps to fill up admissions for Class I. For the more than 1200 schools all over the country, the administrative authority, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, is carrying out the entire admission process for Class I, exclusively online. Last year, there were about 7 lakh applications for joining Class I. This year, the numbers are expected to be more.

KVS New Guidelines and Procedures 2020-21

After the KVS completes verifying the certificates of the applicants, the respective schools step in to complete the remaining admission process. The schools release their admission lists based on the guidelines of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The admissions for more than 1 lakh seats will be completed, by following the guidelines, and priority lists.

KVS Admission Reservations and Priorities

Most of the guidelines followed in the recruitment procedures for Central Government appointments are followed during the school admission process too. Reservations of 15 percent for the SC, 7.5 percent for the ST, and 25 percent overall reservations for the children from the BPL and EWS communities are given. There are a number of preference categories in the admission process for the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

Parents can either contact the school authorities directly for information on admission, or they can get additional information on the KVS website. Since each school has its own website, the school authorities promptly publish their admission lists on their websites.

New website, new address

KVS has now revamped all its websites and changed all their addresses (domain name) too. Most parents are finding it difficult because they are unaware of the new website addresses.

For example, if you Google the website address for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 8, RK Puram, the search engine directs you to the old website.

  • The old website is http://www.kvsector8rkpuram.edu.in/index.php
  • The new website is https://rkpuramsec8.kvs.ac.in/

It has become an accomplishment of sorts to even knew the website addresses of some of the schools.

Lakhs of parents anxiously waiting for announcements on the 2020-2021 admissions try to check the websites of their schools. It is a tiring task to successfully find the proper websites of the schools. Since Google continues to be their preferred choice to search for the websites, the process becomes all the more difficult.
