Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme – JNV Schools in Kerala
JNV Hyderabad Region 2024 boasts a total of 77 prestigious JNV schools spread across various states and union territories. These include 3 schools in the beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 15 schools in the culturally rich Andhra Pradesh, 31 schools in the vibrant state of Karnataka, 14 schools in the enchanting land of Kerala, 1 school in the picturesque Lakshadweep, 4 schools in the serene Pondicherry, and 9 schools in the progressive state of Telangana.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has received 5 proposals from the State Government of Kerala for the opening of new Kendriya Vidyalayas at (i) Kottarakkara, Distt. Kollam, (ii) Ulliyeri Distt. Kozhikode, (iii) Thrikkakara, Distt. Ernakulam, and (iv) Nileshwar, Distt. Kasaragod, (v) Konni, Distt. Pathanamthitta.
However, the feasibility of only the proposals for Nileshwar & Konni has been established as per the KVS norms.
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme provides for the opening of one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in each district of the country. In the State of Kerala, JNVs have been sanctioned in all 14 districts and are presently functioning from their permanent buildings.
