Can non-KV students get admission in Class XI?
– If there are vacant seats in Class XI after admitting KV and neighboring KV children, admissions may be granted to non-KV children based on priority! According to the KVS Admission Guidelines, the Principal does not have the authority to give age relaxation. However, the maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years for differently-abled children, at the discretion of the Principal.
What is the approved strength for each class in KVS?
– The approved strength for each class in KVS is 40 students per section.
How is a ‘Single Girl Child’ defined?
– A ‘Single Girl Child’ refers to an only child, specifically a girl, with no siblings. This also includes twin girls.
What priorities are followed for granting admission in KVS?
– The following priorities are followed for granting admissions:
(A) Kendriya Vidyalayas Under Civil/Defense Sector:
– Children of transferable and non-transferable Central government employees, ex-servicemen, and Foreign National officials on deputation or transfer to India.
– Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertaking/Institute of Higher Learning of the Government of India.
– Children of transferable and non-transferable State Government employees.
– Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertakings/Institute of Higher Learning of the State Governments.
– Children from any other category, including Foreign Nationals located in India for work or personal reasons.
(B) Kendriya Vidyalayas Under Public Sector Undertakings/Institutes of Higher Learning Sector:
– Children and grandchildren of employees of the Project Sector/Institutes of Higher Learning sponsoring the Vidyalaya.
– Children of Project employees, postgraduate students working on long-term research projects, and regular Council of Wardens (COW) employees and their children/grandchildren.
– Same priorities as mentioned in (A) for Central government employees, ex-servicemen, Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector Undertaking/Institute of Higher Learning employees, State Government employees, and other categories.
What is the age eligibility for admission in Class I in KVS?
– A child must be 6 years old as of March 31st in the academic year for which admission is sought. Children born on April 1st should also be considered.
What percentage of reservation is given to handicapped candidates in KVS for admission?
– Three percent (3%) horizontal reservation is provided to handicapped candidates for admission in KVS.
When does the admission process for Class I begin in KVS, and who can apply?
– The Regional Office usually issues an advertisement in local newspapers during the first or second week of February, announcing the admission schedule and inviting parents to register their children for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Does KVS follow the provisions of admission under the RTE Act?
– Yes, KVS reserves 10 seats (out of 40 seats) in Class I per section as per RTE provisions (25% seats). These seats are filled through a draw of lots from all applications of SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) residents.
